Welcome to Our New Board Members!
The K-SAA is delighted to announce that we have two new board members!
Judith Pascoe is the author of four books, including On the Bullet Train with Emily Brontë: Wuthering Heights in Japan and The Sarah Siddons Audio Files: Romanticism and the Lost Voice (winner of the Barnard Hewitt Award).
On the Bullet Train with Emily Brontë was begun during Pascoe’s tenure as a Fulbright Lecturer in Japan and completed during her year as a Guggenheim Fellow. Her essays have appeared in The New York Times, The Hudson Review, The American Scholar, and Public Books. She is currently at work on a book entitled How to Become a Forgotten Poet: The Rise of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and the Fall of Jane Taylor.
Judith Pascoe, the George Mills Harper Professor of English at Florida State University, lives in Tallahassee, Florida. She is looking forward to working with her fellow K-SAA board members to fuel interest in and engagement with Romantic-era writers.
Priscilla Gilman is a former professor of English literature at both Yale University and Vassar College and the author of The Anti-Romantic Child: A Story of Unexpected Joy (Harper), and The Critic's Daughter (Norton).
Gilman has written about literature, parenting, autism, and education and reviewed fiction and literary non-fiction for the Daily Beast, The New York Times Book Review, The New York Times’ Motherlode, the Washington Post, Alta, The Chicago Tribune, MORE, O: The Oprah Magazine, Real Simple, Redbook, the Boston Globe, and Huff Post Parents.
She has received fellowships and grants from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Speranza Foundation, the Whiting Foundation, and the New York Council for the Humanities. In January 2026, she was selected as a Finalist for the National Book Critics Circle's Balakian Citation for Excellence in Reviewing for 2025.
