How to Shape, Revise, & Submit Articles for Publication

In this conversation led by Lucy Morrison (U of Nebraska at Omaha) and Amelia Worsley (Amherst College), participants will hear about the ins-and-outs of article publication, including:

  • what to pull out of your longer project … and what not to

  • how to determine when an article is 'publication-ready'

  • how to position material for a specific journal: identifying 'fit'

  • strategies for seeking feedback | navigating conflicting feedback

  • how to shape a book- or dissertation-chapter into a coherent, standalone article

  • how to move from article to (larger) project

  • how to weigh pressures to publish vs. advice ‘not to over-publish’

  • how to shape articles on subjects apart from your book, dissertation, or field

  • other writing/publishing resources

This event will be held on Zoom. It is being sponsored by the Keats-Shelley Association of America and its community-based mentorship program, The 1819 Social.
